our story

West Baptist Theological College was founded in 1990 by the Kasese Baptist Association in partnership with World Venture Mission. The primary purpose of establishing the college was to train Christian leaders who would support local churches in advancing the Gospel and promoting sound biblical teaching.
The college began with an inaugural class of seven students — six men and one woman — several of whom continue to faithfully serve the Lord to this day.
The founding Kasese Baptist Association team comprised the Late.Pr. Amona Bisika, Late Pr Andrea Lubono, Pr. Faustine Mundualamira and Pr. Masereka Sitariko, while the World Venture Mission team included Brent Slater, Fred Lewis, and the late Jack Smith.

Our leadership

Leadership of the college has transitioned through several dedicated principals over the years. Fred Lewis served as the first Principal, providing leadership until 1993, when Pr. Faustine took over and led the institution from 1993 to 2015. He was succeeded by Timothy Ochom, who served from 2015 to 2017, followed by Abraham Kasiika, whose tenure ran from 2017 to 2025. The current Principal is Fidel Muhindo, who continues to lead the college in its mission to equip men and women for ministry and Christian service.
