WBTC || 2025 GRADUATION

West Baptist Theological College commissions seven graduates for ministry service and appeals for ongoing support.

The College marked a memorable milestone on 15th November 2025, as it commissioned seven graduates under the theme: embracing our identity in Christ as a foundation to ministry success”

The 15th of this month will remain a special date in the institution’s journey of training men and women equipped for the work of ministry and committed to serving the church of Christ.

This year’s cohort included five men and two women, among them Elisha  Bwambale, Solonita Kabugho and others who have completed two years of intensive theological and pastoral training. They were officially sent out to “feed the flock—the church for which Christ died.”

A Ceremony Marked by Inspiration and Legacy

The commissioning service brought together family, friends, local church leaders, and a number of alumni, including Pastor George Mboye, one of the college’s pioneer students. Pastor Mboye served as the keynote preacher of the day.

Drawing from 1 Peter 2:9–10, he challenged the graduates to embrace their identity in Christ as the foundation of their ministry.

He noted:
“We shouldn’t be like the crested crane—Uganda’s treasured national bird whose image appears on currency and in government offices, yet it walks the fields unaware of its value. As believers, we are chosen, we are royal priests, we are a holy nation. When you understand who you are, you will understand your responsibility.”

He reminded the graduates that their commissioning is not an end but the beginning of lifelong service to God’s mission.

Charge from the Former Principal.

The college’s first African principal, Faustine, expressed deep pride in the graduates for choosing West Baptist Theological College—an institution rooted in the authority of Scripture.

He praised their dedication:
“You have played it smartly. You have persevered through challenges, studied faithfully, and today you stand ready. My prayer is that you return to your local churches and implement what you have learned—handling God’s Word with honesty and care.”

He referenced 1 Timothy 4:12–16, urging them to be examples in faith, love, teaching, and conduct.

Graduate Commitments and Gratitude

The seven graduates pledged to carry forward the hope of excellent ministry for future generations and to uphold the integrity of Scripture in their service.

They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the many believers and churches whose generosity made their training possible:

“Without your financial gifts channeled through West Baptist Theological College, we would not have been equipped to serve our local churches and communities with confidence and purpose.”

A Sincere Appeal for Support

As the college looks ahead, it acknowledges that its mission is only possible because of the faithful giving of friends, partners, and churches around the world.

West Baptist Theological College relies highly on donations to train pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders—many of whom would otherwise never access theological education.

This year’s successes, including commissioning seven well-equipped graduates, have been made possible by your generous support.

We say a heartfelt thank you to all our donors for sustaining the college through the year—for your prayers, your financial gifts, and your belief in the mission of raising Christ-centered leaders.

We Request Your Continued Partnership

As we prepare for the next academic year, the college faces growing needs, including:

  • Student scholarships,
  • Library and Computer Laboratory
  • Perimeter wall for security
  • Staff housing facilities
  • College van for transportation

We warmly invite individuals, churches, and partners to continue giving—and to consider increasing their support where possible—so that many more men and women can be trained and sent into the harvest field.

Every gift, large or small, directly strengthens the future of the church.

Looking Ahead: 2026 Recruitment

Beginning November 22, 2025, the recruitment team will travel across the country, speaking in local churches and identifying new students for the next intake.

  • Recess Program: Begins January 5, 2026
  • Full-Time Program: Begins February 2, 2026

The college looks forward to another year of equipping leaders—made possible through God’s grace and the ongoing generosity of its supporters.
